Frequently asked questions

What to know before you start.

IPTVS is a player and library – not a TV provider.

01 Does IPTVS include channels or a subscription?

No. IPTVS does not sell or provide channels, playlists, credentials or media content. You need your own lawful source that you have permission to use.

02 What do I need to get started?

You need either an M3U/M3U8 URL or an Xtream Codes server address, username and password from your provider. An XMLTV URL can supply guide data for M3U.

03 What does iCloud Sync keep in step?

On devices using the same Apple Account, iCloud Sync covers source setup and private connection details, favorites, separate channel, movie and series lists, movie and episode progress, preferred regions and subtitle language, start filters, motion options and category visibility choices. Recent searches, catalog caches and free-tier usage records remain local. Live TV does not create a resume position.

04 How can I reduce catalog clutter?

Create custom channel, movie and series lists. Channel lists are available from Channels, the TV Guide and Favorites. You can also pin categories, hide them from the chip row or hide them from the category browser; their content remains available under All.

05 Do TV guide and catchup work with every source?

Guide information requires EPG data from your source or an XMLTV URL. Catchup depends on the provider and is supported for compatible Xtream channels marked with TV archive.

06 How are my credentials stored and synced?

Credentials and private M3U/XMLTV URLs are kept out of watch history and stored with Apple Keychain where supported. For cross-device access, IPTVS also uses encrypted fields in your private iCloud database, including Apple TV. Source names, source types and Xtream server addresses are part of the synced source record. If iCloud is unavailable, the app may ask you to enter the source password again.

07 What is available without Premium?

The app is free to download and provides limited daily playback. Premium removes the daily playback limits. Exact options and local prices are always shown by the App Store.

08 Why will a channel or movie not start?

First check that the same source and stream work with your provider. Playback can fail because a stream is offline, an account limit is reached or the receiver does not support the format.
